Choosing a photo that prints well

This is the single thing that decides how good the result looks, so it is worth thirty seconds of thought.

Go for the largest, sharpest file you have — 1000 pixels on the long edge or better. A photo straight from your phone's camera roll is usually ideal; a screenshot, or a picture saved from social media, usually is not.
Good light beats a good pose. Daylight, or a bright room. Dark or heavily backlit photos lose the detail that makes a face recognisable.
Make sure the subject stands out from the background. The shape is cut by hand around the outline, so a black dog against a black sofa is genuinely harder than the same dog on a light rug.
Faces read best when they fill the frame. If your pet is a small shape in the corner of a wide photo, there is less detail to work with once it is enlarged.
Not sure? Send it anyway. You will see the proof before anything is printed, and Dikla will tell you honestly if a different photo would come out better.

Your options

Crop: head only, or whole body. Head-only is the most popular for pets — it gives you a bigger, bolder face at this size.
One side or double-sided. Double-sided is printed on both faces so it looks right from inside and outside the car. One photo is used on both sides.
Scent, or no scent at all. Eighteen scents to choose from, including Vanilla, Lavender, Eucalyptus, Beachwood, Apple Harvest, Coconut Lime, Campfire Marshmallow, Fresh Cedarwood and Bright Sandalwood — plus a genuinely popular unscented option, if you want the keepsake without the fragrance.

It does not have to be a pet

Most orders are dogs and cats, but the process is the same for any photo. Customers have sent a partner, a child, a grandparent, a first car, a wedding photo, and a pet that has passed. Memorial fresheners are a real and regular request — if that is what you are ordering, say so in your note and it will be handled with care.

Living with it

Lasts several weeks. When the scent fades, spray it with fragrance and keep using it — the print does not wash out, so the freshener itself lasts far longer than the scent does.
Works beyond the car — closets, drawers, small bathrooms, lockers.
Hang it where it never blocks your view of the road. Some states restrict objects hanging from the rearview mirror, so check your local rules, and never place anything where it could interfere with airbag deployment.
Keep it off your interior surfaces. Let it hang freely rather than resting against dashboards, leather, or trim — fragrance oil can mark or soften them.
Keep out of reach of children and pets. Not edible.
