Corporate & Client Gifting: A Flameless Home Fragrance Guide
Share
A flameless home fragrance gift works for almost any client or employee, because there is no wick to light, nothing to plug in, and no open-flame rule for it to break. A reed diffuser, a gift box or a wax sachet goes straight from the box to a shelf, a desk or a closet, in a house, an apartment, a corner office or a cubicle.
Everything at Scents of Glow is flameless and wick-free (with one exception, covered below), hand-poured in small batches in California, and made with phthalate-free fragrance oils that require no California Prop 65 warning. Every product is packed ready to give and every order includes a printed care card, so a gift needs no wrapping, no assembly and no explaining.
Why a flameless gift suits business gifting
A corporate gift has to survive the widest range of recipients you will ever gift to. Some clients work from home, some from a shared office, some from an apartment with a no-flame lease, and some have a cat on every surface. A candle gets ruled out by a surprising number of them. A flameless gift doesn’t:
-
Clients in offices and coworking spaces where open flame is not allowed.
-
Remote and hybrid employees who can have a gift sent straight to their home.
-
Renters and apartment dwellers whose lease bans candles.
-
New hires, interns and students in dorms and shared housing.
-
Households with pets or small children, where a lit candle at coffee-table height is one more thing to watch. (More on this below.)
-
Anyone sensitive to smoke or simply tired of being given candles.
-
Realtors, lenders and contractors giving closing or move-in gifts to people who have just got their keys.
Match the recipient to the gift
Start with who is receiving it and what the gift needs to do. The format and the budget mostly decide the rest.

What each budget buys
Prices below are from the live store. Pre-made gift boxes run from $28 to $58 depending on whether you choose the 3-, 4- or 6-piece version. The Botanical Wax Sachet Trio (Lavender, Cherry Blossom and Orange Blossom, one of each, with real pressed botanicals in the wax) is $21 and is the easiest add-on for a welcome kit or a stocking filler.
-
Around $20: the sachet trio, or a single room and linen spray or car freshener. Good for teams, classes, and anyone you want to thank without it becoming a big gesture.
-
Around $28: a 3-piece gift box. A tidy gift for colleagues, hosts and referrals.
-
Up to $58: a 6-piece gift box for the clients who matter most. It is a whole set (a diffuser, a spray, melts and a sachet, in the mix described on each listing), not a single item.
The five gift boxes, and who each one suits
Each box is a flameless set, curated and packed ready to give, in your choice of 3, 4 or 6 pieces. The mix is typically a reed diffuser, a room spray, wax melts and a sachet, so check the listing for what is in the size you want.
-
Cedar & Stone: warm cedar, amber and smoked-wood notes, a woodsy scent that works for any client. A confident pick for coworkers and clients who like bold, grounding scent.
-
Holiday Glow: warm, festive and seasonal. The listing names corporate gifting, Secret Santa and hostess gifts, so this is the one to buy in volume for the end of the year.
-
Vanilla Comfort: warm, creamy vanilla. A birthday, thank-you or housewarming-style gift for people you know a little.
-
Lavender Serenity: soft, calming lavender. A good fit for a wellness practice, a new parent, or a get-well note.
-
Eucalyptus Retreat: fresh, clean and spa-like. Suits clients who would call themselves minimalists.

Choosing a scent for a list you don’t know well
Scent is personal, so the most reliable strategy for a client list is to lean light and clean rather than sweet and heavy. For reed diffusers, these are confirmed live options:
-
Clean and light: Sea Minerals, Himalayan Bamboo, Azure Coast and Eucalyptus & Bergamot. Clean rather than sweet, so they sit alongside cooking, coffee and a shared workspace.
-
Warm and cozy: Ambered Vanilla, for clients you know like comforting scents.
-
Floral and soft: Lavender, Rose Petals and Orange Blossom.
-
Very fresh: Cucumber Water & Melon is very fresh and light and suits a small bathroom or a compact home office.
-
Seasonal: Sunwashed reads as a summer scent, so save it for a spring or summer gifting moment.
One thing worth knowing before you order: not every scent is made in every format. Vanilla Orchid, Beachwood, Cherry Blossom, Fresh Cedarwood and Bright Sandalwood are available in sprays, sachets, car fresheners and gift boxes, but they are not reed diffuser scents. If you want the diffuser, pick from the list above.
Gifting to a home with pets or kids
If you are gifting to someone you know has a dog, a cat or small children, compare the format against the alternative: a burning candle has an open flame, hot wax and a wick, and a reed diffuser, spray or sachet has none of those. That is a comparison, not a guarantee. A reed diffuser bottle still holds fragrance oil, so it belongs on a high shelf or console, out of reach, where it can’t be tipped, spilled or swallowed. Our care card says to keep every product away from pets and kids.
Birds are far more sensitive to airborne scent than cats or dogs, so if a client keeps a bird, or a pet with a breathing problem, check with their vet before giving any fragrance for the room the animal lives in. Our guide to flameless fresheners in a home with pets goes through this in detail.
The one exception: wax melts need a warmer
A wax melt has no wick, but it needs a warmer. An electric warmer is flame-free; a tealight warmer uses an open flame, which defeats the point for anyone who can’t have one. Some gift boxes include wax melts, so if you are gifting to a client in an office or a lease with a flame rule, make sure they have an electric warmer. Both the warmer and the melted wax get hot in use and should be kept out of reach of pets and children. Our wax melts vs candles guide covers the trade-off in full.
A few gifting details that make it land
-
Add a handwritten note. The box arrives ready to give, so the note is the part that makes it from you.
-
Mail to the home, not the office, for remote employees and clients you know work from home.
-
Go lighter for the shared office. If a recipient will use it at a shared desk, pick a clean scent and a small format, such as a spray or a sachet.
-
Match the format to the season. Holiday Glow for December, a diffuser for a spring anniversary, and Lavender Serenity for a wellness-minded client.

Ordering for a team or a client list
For anything beyond a handful of gifts, our corporate gifting service does the work for you. Send us a spreadsheet of recipients and we handle the rest: every address is validated, every package ships directly to its recipient with a personal gift message, and you receive one consolidated invoice. Custom logo labels and branded packaging are available so every gift carries your company’s name.
-
Ready-to-give gift boxes: the five boxes above, each in a 3, 4 or 6-piece size.
-
Or build your own: pick any combination from the range, such as wax melts, botanical sachets, room sprays, car diffusers and reed diffusers, and we build the box around it. Custom-curated boxes, and your label on the front, start from 25 units.
-
Quoted per order: tell us what you want and how many, or tell us your budget per gift and we build to it. You get a quote within one business day.
-
Two ways to ship: to one address (your office or event venue), quoted delivered, or to each recipient individually, with per-address shipping billed at cost and itemized on your quote.
-
Timing: we recommend 2–3 weeks for most orders, and you can ask about urgent deadlines.
Corporate pricing starts at 25 units, and smaller orders are welcome at standard pricing. The service suits employee appreciation and holiday gifts, client thank-yous, new-hire welcome boxes, conference and event favors, real-estate closing gifts, and hotel or spa welcome amenities.

FAQ
What is a good corporate gift that isn’t a candle?
A flameless home fragrance set. A pre-made gift box (3, 4 or 6 pieces) is the easiest to send because it is packed ready to give, and a reed diffuser is the best single item because it runs for about 90 days with nothing to light or plug in.
Can I send a reed diffuser to an employee who works from home?
Yes. It has no wick and no plug, so it works in a home office, an apartment or a spare room, and we can ship each gift to the recipient’s home. It lasts about 90 days, and every order includes a printed care card, so the recipient has instructions without you writing them. See how long a reed diffuser lasts.
Are these gifts allowed in offices that ban open flame?
Reed diffusers, room sprays, wax sachets and car fresheners have no flame and no wick. Building rules vary, so check yours if you are unsure. Wax melts are the exception: they need a warmer, and only an electric warmer is flame-free.
What scent should I choose for a client list I don’t know well?
Go clean and light: Sea Minerals, Himalayan Bamboo, Azure Coast or Eucalyptus & Bergamot as reed diffusers. For warmer tastes, Ambered Vanilla. For gift boxes, Cedar & Stone is a good all-round choice, and Holiday Glow is the festive one.
Do the gifts arrive ready to give?
Yes. Every product is packed ready to give, and gift boxes need no wrapping. Every order includes a printed care card.
Can I order in bulk, ship to each recipient, or add our logo?
Yes to all three. Corporate pricing starts at 25 units, and smaller orders are welcome at standard pricing. Send us a spreadsheet of recipients and every gift ships individually, with a personal gift message and one consolidated invoice for you. Custom logo labels and branded sleeves are available on bulk orders, quoted per order. Details and the quote form are on our corporate gifting page.
What does corporate gifting cost?
Every order is quoted, because the pieces, the quantity, the packaging and the shipping all change the number. Tell us what you want and how many, or your budget per gift, and you will have a quote within one business day, with shipping itemized separately.
How far in advance should we order?
We recommend 2 to 3 weeks for most orders. If you need it sooner, ask and we will do our best to meet urgent deadlines.
Should pets or kids in the household change what I send?
Compared with a burning candle, a reed diffuser, spray or sachet has no flame or hot wax. A reed diffuser bottle still holds fragrance oil, so it should sit out of reach. Our care card says to keep products away from pets and kids. Birds are far more sensitive to airborne scent than cats or dogs, so if a recipient has a bird, they should ask their vet first.
